A WARM WELCOME TO FORESTVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOL
In 2014 a national report by RPData revealed that Forestville was the top suburb in Sydney to bring up a family due to its ambience of family sized blocks located in safe and leafy cul de sacs, its proximity to good health, retail and leisure facilities, and of course its good schools!
The school opened in 1963 and has grown steadily to over 700 students in 2017.
Students at Forestville Public School are confident, enthusiastic and happy. They thrive on learning in a safe and nurturing environment with committed and talented teachers, who deliver quality teaching programs embedding skills for 21stcentury learning. We enjoy very strong support from our parent community which in turn is supported by the wider Forestville community in terms of volunteer programs and financial support.
Our primary focus is literacy and numeracy which is underpinned by the integration of technology into learning. Classrooms and the ICT room are all well equipped with interactive whiteboards and computers. Wi-Fi enables students to become connected with the use of laptops and iPads across the campus.
We have a strong student wellbeing focus at our school, with a wide range of strategies, such as our Student Representative Council (SRC), Buddy program and student leadership programs to enhance and strengthen student leadership capacity and student voice.
We articulate our school values through our S.A.G.E. program. At Forestville Public School our Students Aim high, Give it a go and Encourage others.
We connect student learning as much as possible to our natural environment. Sustainable principles are evident with water tanks, composting, learning opportunities abound with the cultivation of our vegetable gardens.
Learning is dynamic and engaging at Forestville Public School, and I am privileged to be a part of such a vibrant learning community.
I look forward to a productive and rewarding association with your family that will ensure the best for your children as they embark on their learning experiences at Forestville Public School.
