Community involvement

Our school values strong partnerships with our families and community. Parents and carers can get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) or by volunteering at our school. Your time and support help make our school a better place for everyone.

Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)

Our P&C is a group of parents, carers and school community members. They assist with school planning, fundraising, events and volunteering. Our P&C works in partnership with our school to promote the interests of our school community.

What we do

• Canteen Management: The P&C operates the school canteen, providing healthy and delicious meal options for students. Through Munch Monitor, parents can conveniently order meals in advance, ensuring a smooth and efficient service for everyone.

• Uniform Shop: We run the second hand uniform shop, making it easy for families to purchase school uniforms at affordable prices.

• Fundraising: We organise various fundraising events throughout the year to support school programs, resources, and facilities. These funds contribute to educational resources, extracurricular activities, and community events.

• Community Engagement: The P&C facilitates connections between families, teachers, and the school, ensuring that everyone has a voice in our school community.

• Support for School Initiatives: We collaborate with school leadership to identify areas where the P&C can provide assistance, whether through funding, volunteer support, or organising events.

• Social Events: We host events to strengthen community ties and foster relationships among families, such as welcome nights, family fun days, and celebrations.

P&C meetings

Forestville P&C meetings are held onsite and online twice per term during the school year. Everyone is welcome to attend. Details of the next meeting are within the school newsletter.

These meetings provide a forum for parents to discuss the school’s operation with the school’s Principal. Other school executive members and teachers often attend and provide an opportunity to meet in an informal, friendly atmosphere.

Volunteer at our school

Helping out at school is a great way to get involved in your school community.

Volunteer opportunities include:

• helping in the canteen
• getting involved in the P&C.
• listening to children read in the classroom
• volunteering on sports days and other school events
• helping supervise excursions.
