Our Enrichment Program

Mission Dart student project

Forestville Public School’s Enrichment Program is a student driven experience which develops tangible and intangible skills. This program provides Year 3 to Year 6 students with the opportunity to learn deeper in the curriculum and its related areas, as well as achieve outcomes beyond their set grade. With the use of inquiry based learning, focusing on either a problem or personal interest, students engage in critical and creative thinking to develop knowledge and synthesise their understanding.

The following are surveyed responses by some 2021 participating students when asked: Do you think this experience has been valuable? If yes, why? If no, why not?

“Yes. I learnt about making a questionnaire and creating graphs” (Rose, Year 3).

“Yes, this has provided me with information for the coming years. I'm sure if I didn't do this, I would get worse grades in high school” (Aidan, Year 4).

“Yes, I think this experience was valuable. As well as having lots of fun researching and writing, I think that I learnt more about people's lives during World War II” (Helani, Year 5).

“Yes, I think this experience has been very valuable, learning a lot about greyhounds and also this assignment has also helped prepare for future assignments, getting me ready for high school” (Toby, Year 6).
